This example falls towards the end of the second Inland block of M1A1 production which ran from May 1944 to January 1945. The Inland barrel is dated "11-45". "N" marked milled front sight, no rear sight present. Rebuilt mixed internals including flat bolt and flip safety. Low wood paratrooper stock marked "IO". Pistol grip marked "RI / 3" on the base with no visible crossed cannons likely indicating a post-War rebuild. Folding wire stock with leather cheek piece affixed with late steel rivets. 2-rivet top wood is unmarked and is retained by a "MMQ" bayonet lug band. CONDITION: Very good. Carbine retains the vast majority of its dark parkerized finish with some expected high edge wear. Stocks shows scattered impressions, with a concentrated area where the butt plate contacts the forend when folded. Strong bore with residue. ME reads just under 1. Fine mechanics.
