Luxembourg acquired approximately 6000 SFN-49 rifles in the early early 1950s, these rifles have become increasingly popular in the US for their easy to source .30-06 chambering. This classic example is marked on the receiver with "AL" crest in addition to Belgian proofs. Full black enamel finish. Protected blade front sight and 1000 meter tangent rear. This rifle also sports a Lyman Alaskan scope with crosshair reticle on an aftermarket base patterned after the original sniper scope mounts. Classic finger groove walnut stocks with trap butt plate. Externally visible numbers matching. No visible import marks. Rifle is accompanied by an original English language manual, leather sling, cleaning kit, chargers, and a few spare parts. CONDITION: Fine. The vast majority of the factory finish is retained with some mild chipping and wear, especially towards the muzzle and on the bolt handle. Stocks are fine with a few light impressions. Very good, bright bore. Fine mechanics. Clear optics.
