Beautiful German MP-40 machine gun on Wilson manufactured and registered receiver tube. Lower assembly manufactured by Steyr (bnz) in 1942. Barrel is contemporary yet faithful to original manufacture with simple "745" on left side. Steyr bolt assembly (WaA 623). Numbers are not matching between bolt, lower assembly, or barrel. Barrel resting bar is of the bakelite type. Three original albeit refinished NAZI marked magazines aftermarket leather sling, and leather four cell magazine pouch are included with this lot. The MP-40 needs little introduction as is has been so often seen in various films over the years. It was, and remains the iconic and instantly recognizable "German machine gun" and is also one of the most popular machine guns to take to the range for the shooting enthusiast. Relatively slow firing, easy to control, comfortable, and utilizes readily available ammunition. This model also has the great benefit of being easy to field strip and clean. It is one of the best entry level machine guns, and as a full auto only machine gun it is eligible to be transferred into the State of Connecticut. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent lustrous blue as refinished upon assembly. Bakelite furnishings and grips are extremely fine with some light handling marks. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. A great specimen for any World War II and/or shooting enthusiast. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4.
