One of the best Beretta Model 38A machine guns to become available in recent years. This gun was brought back by a veteran who gave it to his rather young nephew as a gift. This nephew kept the gun just as it was, and grew to adulthood in time to register this piece during the amnesty of 1968. This original amnesty form is included with this piece. Electronic registry indicates “ITALIAN” as the manufacturer. This is a fine, visible numbers matching Beretta model 38A with 1 rather rare 20-round magazine as these guns were originally supplied with. Marked on receiver with crown over “RE” indicating Italian Army issue, this gun has typical receiver markings and includes date “1943- XXI” Other markings include stock cartouche “UT” as well as matching serial number. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine original finish with some scattered brown patina and a coating of some kind of lacquer on both metal and wood. There are typical dings and handling marks to the wood but overall, this is an extremely attractive piece. Bore is extremely fine, shiny, and bright. Bolt is extremely fine. Magazine finish consistent with the rest of the gun. Mechanics are crisp. The Beretta machine guns of World War II are righteously considered the best of their era. Accurate, controllable, durable, and reliable. This is a select-fire machine gun with 2 triggers, one for full-auto, and the other for semi-auto fire. Any machine gun enthusiast who has fired a Beretta 38A would like to shoot one again. This is a fabulous specimen of this sought-after and iconic machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2021-011-020
