Very attractive and uncommon find of a Gustloff (dfb) 43 manufactured MG-34 machine gun with matching components, including shroud, top cover, receiver, and buffer assembly. Buffer cup and early steel-tipped buttstock are unnumbered, as is the feed tray and feed block. Barrel is Nazi and non-matching serial number, as is the bolt 7393. Bipod is correct dfb 43 marked without adjustment knob. Accessories include a spare non-matching buffer assembly. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original finish with some loss of finish turning to a gray patina at the high edges, with some typical occasional “spotting” and areas where pinprick corrosion occurred. The center portion of the shroud has a duller finish and this is seen on many MG-34 specimens. There is evidence of welding and rework with loss of finish to gray patina right at underside of the shroud and receiver and this indicates this gun may have been deactivated at one time. But still a very highly attractive MG-34 gun. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt is also extremely fine. Composite of buttstock extremely fine with metal tips exhibiting a pleasing brown patina. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. Very seldom does one find a MG-34 as matching as this. A restorative specialist could mitigate all indications this gun was ever deactivated. A great example of the iconic classic machined steel German belt fed machine gun from World War II. Just the thing for the World War II German military collector, and a gun that is great fun to shoot at the range as well. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2021-04-006
