The octagonal barrel has iron foresight and rudimentary engraving at breech. The bolted step lock has border engraving, swan neck cock with rudimentary engraving. Stock of maple with significant curl in the butt. Brass trigger guard with pineapple finial. Two silver inlays on wrist. CONDITION: Barrel is smooth and brown with some erosion towards breech, probably rebrowned. Lock is clean, with an old brown patina. Frizzen is reshod, indicating significant use. Maple full stock in good condition, with one repair on left side towards muzzle and a coat of varnish. Action is good. Bore is good. Ramrod is a modern replacement and too short. The form of this pistol is classic Kentucky and made better by a very well-known maker. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
