Barrel 27-3/4", .38-55 caliber. This rifle began life as a standard Ballard Pacific No. 5 single shot rifle. It was customized by adding a full heavy round barrel with a new walnut fore-end and target style butt stock with rollover cheek piece and Swiss butt plate. Barrel is mounted with scope blocks, the rear sight slot is empty, front sight is a spirit level hooded adjustable, rear long range tang sight, barrel has scope blocks mounted and is a smooth brown patina. A palm rest has been added to fore-end. Double set triggers. Frame is brown grey patina. Butt stock is excellent. Strong rifled bore. This rifle is accompanied by its original serial numbered full octagon barrel (30") .38-55 cal, with a very good bore, original sporting rear sight, front sight slot is empty and is a smooth brown patina. It also has the original Pacific model walnut butt stock with rifled butt plate. In excellent condition with two small hairline cracks at wrist.
