JONANN PETERLONGO ( Tiroler Waffenfabrik Peterlongo), renowned Innsbruck gunmaker from 1826 through 1898 built this quality sporter based on the classic Mauser action. This legend is found stamped on the left side of octagon barrel flats. Features the octagon to round barrel with matted solid rib, sports a ramp front sight, two leaf folding rear sight, engraved case color action with claw mounts, a butter knife bolt handle, engraved floor plate and trigger guard, double set triggers, a walnut stock with checkered pistol grip and fluted cap, straight comb, under cut roll over cheek piece, horn butt plate and forearm tip with swivels. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel retains nearly all its blue finish with nominal handling. The frame retains flashes of color but mostly darkened. Floor plate and trigger guard are smooth patina. Stock is excellent with minor impressions. Mechanically fine with working trigger that does not set. Bore is bold but frosted.
