.44 bore percussion with a 7-1/2" barrel. Approximately 5,800 of these revolvers were manufactured 1863 to 1865 at the Rogers & Spencer plant in Willow Dale, New York. These were manufactured for the U.S. government and have all proper military inspector marks. This is referred to as the Army model due to the .44 bore. It is a six shot, blued, single action, with a full octagon barrel, two piece walnut grips and a case colored hammer. The walnut grips are near mint and have a perfect cartouche on left panel. Cylinder has all six original nipples and retains approximately 30% original blue with the balance simply turned to a smooth pleasing brown patina. The barrel retains approximately 90% original blue with some light freckling and high edge wear. Frame has about 85% blue on the sides with some minor freckling and some light areas of flaking that have blended to a smooth brown. Bore and action are near mint.
