Near mint unfired and extremely hard to find Colt Model 639 variant of the M16 machine gun with original Colt manufactured moderator as made for the civilian market and for export. Only 100 of these were made by Colt, making it extremely rare indeed. The moderator was designed to change the sound of the report so that this gun sounds like a rifle other than an M-16/AR-15 machine gun. The BATF considers the moderator a suppressor, and as such, this gun will require two NFA transfer tax stamps if transferred on an ATF Form 4. Moderator with “SU” prefix (for suppressor) followed by serial number 4790056. This carbine includes an original 20 round Colt magazine, and features an original collapsible telescoping buttstock and forward assist. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish new unfired other than normal factory test firing. Magazine has lost much of its gray finish revealing a soft mustard color so familiar to M16 enthusiasts. Moderator near excellent and clean. Composite parts finish near excellent. Bore and bolt are both just about mint. Investment level firearm of the very highest order.
