Group Industries fully transferable receiver assembled with USGI parts including flaming bomb arsenal mark with HAS (High Standard) and 12-53 date on top of barrel. Top of receiver has “GROUP IND.” markings & serial number. Very early number, “00025”. This weapon has an original G.I. bipod and wood carrying handle. Very nice smooth wooden forend, and vintage original hard composite buttstock with white paint and rack number at bottom of handgrip area. Third model (easiest to adjust) gas regulator. One original 20 round magazine and leather sling included. The BAR was an important component of portable firepower within the American infantry squad during World War II. It was highly effective when engaging the enemy. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent as refinished upon remanufacture with a smooth grey-blue finish with very little loss of finish at the high points. Mechanics are crisp with a nice smooth action. Bore is extremely fine, shiny & bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Stock has some slight handling marks. Forend is near mint. Leather of sling is a little stiff and starting to crack. Magazine finish grey. This is a full-auto only (fast and slow automatic fire) machine gun. The Browning automatic rifle is one of the most popular machine guns out on the range. The steady, “Thump, thump, thump of the BAR is very distinctive and always draws attention.
