Designed by Eugene Reising, the Harrington & Richardson Model 50 machine gun was fielded with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II, and also saw extensive usage with many police departments, who took large amounts of Reising Model 50s into their inventories after the conclusion of World War II. The Reising M50 is unique in that it fires its first shot from a closed bolt, giving it an accuracy advantage compared to other submachine guns of its time. This example features a nicely reapplied blue finish, finned barrel, and compensator. The top of the receiver bears stampings stipulating the manufacturer, model, and caliber, with the right side bearing "SAFE", "SA", and "FA" for the selector. Magazine well has been ground down at one point in time, with the left side exhibiting a small repair. Stock has been lightly sanded and cleaned. Complete with a vintage felt lined transit case, 1 20 round stick magazine, 1 aftermarket 30 round stick magazine, 2 H&R Reising Submachine Gun manuals, and a nice assortment of additional parts including an additional firing pin, as well as various springs, pins, and other small parts to keep one firing at the range. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some scattered scratches and handling marks, as well as a few areas of freckling. Stampings are easily legible. Bore is bright and retains good rifling throughout. Stock is good as refinished, showing a few scattered handling marks, as well as a repair on the right side below the selector area and a small repair on the left side of the buttstock. Vintage transit case retains much of it's original paint, showing some areas of staining on the exterior as well as areas of oxidation all around and is still strong and serviceable. Interior is good, showing some wear to the felt, but is otherwise fine. Leather handle exhibits cracking and flaking all around. A nice example of a popular entry level .45 ACP machine gun, with a nice assortment of accessories. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE. -MLW-
