Swedish version of the Browning Automatic Rifle with checkered walnut wood furnishings exhibits the highest standards of quality, fit, and finish. Visible serial numbers matching throughout with Swedish crown proofs. Marked “CARL GUSTAFS STADS” with crown logo, date (1928) and “GEVARS FAKTORI” on top of receiver. It incorporates notable attractive features such as an aluminum shield between the barrel and the wood of the forearm, 3 position adjustable gas port, bipod mounted just forward of the forearm giving superior stability, and a pistol grip to the rear of the trigger. 1 20-round curved Swedish magazine, leather sling, and headspace gauge are included with this lot. Electronic NFA registry indicates “SWEDEN” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent lustrous commercial blue finish with slight loss of finish at high edges of rear sight protective “ears” and at top of receiver bolt lock block. Typical scratches on receiver where the detent pins swing out. The wood is extremely fine with minor bruising, loss of checks, and typical light handling marks. 2 Swedish Crown proofs barely discernible on underside of buttstock 3" to rear of receiver. Bore is near excellent, shiny, and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. This is a magnificent find for the Swedish arms collector, or for anyone who appreciates a great example of the quality of the arms produced during this period. A fabulous opportunity for the advanced and discerning collector. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2022-3-29
