The frame of this gun was manufactured in 1890 and features the front screw cylinder pin release. The rest of the gun is basically a hodge-podge of vintage parts and various restamps. The barrel is a 4-3/4" two line barrel address that has been rechambered for the .38 Special cartridge. Front sight has been filed. Barrel has been reblued, caliber markings removed from left side. The frame has an after-market U.S. stamp on left side. Cylinder is first generation .38 Special cylinder. Hammer is a first generation hammer. The walnut grips are after-market with recently reapplied R.A.C. cartouches on both sides. The gun has been refinished with wipe-on cold blue. Trigger guard and backstrap have been restamped to match frame. Lock up has all four clicks and locks up tight. Very good bore, but frosted. Basically a hand-built Colt Single Action Army using various parts and modern restamps. Should make a fine shooter.
