This is one of the myriad of rifles that Winchester put together using Model 1894 frames with Model 55 barrels. The frame places the date of manufacture in 1932, which coinsides with mid-production of the Model 55. It has a Model 55 barrel that is chambered for the scarce .25-35 cartridge. Features a 24" round barrel, buttom magazine, solid frame, sporting sights, walnut stocks, with fluted comb and a checkered steel shotgun butt. The wood is very good with no cracks or chips, proud to metal with usual hunting dings. The blued receiver finish has flaked and is a mix of blue, brown and gun metal grey. Something has got on the metal of the barrel and the blue is splotchy with gun metal underneath. Action is fine. Visible rifling but worn. Would be a very good candidate for an expert restoration. Shootable as is.
