This fine English made Blunderbuss is attributed to Thomas Barnett, master gunsmith, from 1778 - 1827. It is an original flintlock. The lock is stamped "Barnett". There is a heart with a cross that is stamped "E.I.V.C." within the heart and cross. It is dated 1804. It is a standard constabulary style flintlock, short barrel with the full one piece stock with smooth steel buttplate, cleaning rod and sling swivels. English proofs on barrel. Metal is gun metal grey with brown age freckling. Legends are sharp. There is a wood patch repair on one side. Cleaning rod is retained by two thimbles. There is a 1" hairline crack on the right side forend and a repaired hairline crack on left side of the stock. Nice early London Blunderbuss.
