30" barrel in .30-40 Krag. This is a standard U.S. issue Springfield Krag rifle. Left side of stock has a perfect "J.S.A. 1900" cartouche with script "P" in oval at wrist. Has the rare headless cocking piece. Barrel is a pleasing mix of blue-brown patina, as is barrel band. Frame retains approximately 80% soft blue. Left sideplate is freckled. Extractor is soft blue. Original walnut stock is very good with original finish, never touched. Strong clean rifling. Perfect action. Comes with an 1898 dated Krag bayonet and metal sheath. Nice, clean, honest original Krag.
