31-1/4" barrel in caliber 6.5mm Japanese. This rifle was manufactured at the Koishikawa, Tokyo Arsenal. This rifle has the inverted V front sight without guards, adjustable rear sight to 2,400 meters, the characters "Type 38" on bridge, mum is ground off, standard two piece buttstock with short handguard, knurled safety with serrated sides and large tang safety indicator, flat forged buttplate, straw colored trigger, and rear sight spring (replaced). Balance of gun retains 70% of the original factory blue finish, with the exception of the trigger guard and floorplate which are all grey and missing stock screw. Has the plum bolt handle. Bolt is numbered 232. Near mint bore and action. Right side of the stock has five inlaid contrasting wood bows.
