Lot of three cased purple hearts: “George Barron” with ribbons, “Albert Shervilla” with one collar pin, third is not inscribed and includes collar pin and badge. Bronze star in presentation case inscribed “John Barron”. Good conduct “Maurice Albright” in cardboard box. Women’s Army Corp in cardboard box 1942-1943. Also include paperwork that lists American cemeteries in Europe, a letter dated April 27, 1945 from the War Department awarding the Purple Heart to Albert Shervilla posthumously along with his registration card. Along with this comes a list of available national cemeteries for Albert Shervilla’s mother to bury her son, an original Western Union telegram that her son has died, other letter from the War Department of where the remains will be interned, another letter discusses that he is buried in Luxemburg, a sympathy card from General Marshall, a letter from Shervilla’s commanding officer detailing his death on March 19th, 1945 in Saarlautern, Germany, a Pennsylvania claim for compensation, a letter of condolence from Major General Philip Hayes with a list of local Pennsylvania personal affairs offices, a letter of condolence from Major General Witsell, a letter of condolence from the United States Congress, and two period brochures (1946 Temporary U.S. Military Cemeteries in Europe and a pamphlet for American cemeteries in Europe).
