Manufactured 1863. Henry rolled die marking on barrel is deep and very legible. Serial number on top flat between rear barrel sight and receiver. Sight is marked with 900 yard ladder. Magazine is integrated with barrel. Full brass receiver. First model, second variation. Stock is of a straight grain American walnut. Upper tang has been repaired from a break that occurred some time through the span of its life. Three screws that hold stock on are not numbered to the gun but the two screws holding on the buttplate are numbered to the gun, indicating that the three stock screws are replacements. Right side of receiver "CC" marked on front of receiver along with "CGC" marked on right flat of barrel next to receiver indicating a martially marked purchased by the military. The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. Overall very good to fine. Barrel retains 70-85% dark original blue along with integrated magazine. Bore is good with light pitting, bright and shiny otherwise. Left side of receiver has a dark, mustard colored look. Edges of receiver are sharp at top and somewhat rounded on bottom indicating that it has been carried some. Right side of receiver has sharp edges on top and the same rounded look on bottom. Screw heads all look fine, turned but not abused. Finish on stock left side has 85% finish with numerous compression and some light gouges on both left and right side of stock. Stock and buttplate are numbered to the gun and buttstock fits reasonably well with no splinters or cracks to indicate damage. Hammer is a dark patina, lever is of the same dark patina. Mechanics are fine, cycles properly.
