Manufactured post-1923 parts clean-up. According to Madis, any gun after serial No. 702349 was built for order using leftover parts on hand. This is still basically a Third Model so-called Trapper Carbine. This serial number is listed as exempt with 14" in the ATF records. This trapper was probably shipped in 1924-25 as a larger than normal amount of trappers were sent during this era. Features full magazine, two barrel bands, post front sight, ladder express rear sight, saddle erring and stud, walnut stocks and carbine butt. Overall the metal is soft grey-brown patina with well worn edges, salt and pepper texture on barrel. Address and caliber markings not readable. Tang is partially readable. Wood is good to very good, shy to metal at wrist, with repaired crack at left forend. Cleaning rod in butt. Action functions. Bore is dirty with visible rifling. Handsome, scarce, documented trapper with homogenous Old West eye appeal.
