Two sets of 28" barrels, one choked IC and mod, the other mod and full, are marked "CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER" in milled out portion of slightly raised matted ribs. There are 3" triangles of scroll engraving at breech ends. Engine turned barrel flats are marked with serial numbers and Winchester proofs. Blued flat side Model 21 action with automatic safety and gold-plated single selective trigger is engraved and gold inlaid in "Grand American" style. Action has near full coverage varying sized scroll within foliate borders. This scroll surrounds framed vignettes of dogs and birds, major subjects relief inlaid in gold; setter is on left side of action and a pointing pointer on right. A pair of pheasant are on bottom, and a setter looks over its right shoulder on trigger guard bow. Fences are relief carved with oak leaves and acorns. Fancy XXX feather crotch American walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4" over checkered wood butt. Steel grip cap is scroll engraved and inlaid with gold wire border and "GRAND" "AMERICAN". Stock is "B carved" with Fleur-di-lis and ribbons across fancy checkering pattern. One matching beavertail forend serves both barrels. It has typical release, inset contrasting wood tip, and engine turned internals. Gun is housed in tan canvas case with stitched leather corners which has matching outer cover. Interior is lined in burgundy cloth and has black and gold W R A label in lid. Case contains pair of snap caps, round oil bottle and straps. Cody Firearms Museum information indicates no records are on file for this number. Excellent, appears test fired only, retaining nearly all custom finishes on wood and metal with only the slightest of handling and assembly marks. Most notably a couple small dings on bottom right side of butt, and a light scratch from removal of forend on IC and mod barrels. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine. Outer cover has slight soiling and rubs. Interior is excellent. A very attractive Model 21.
