All 28 bore Parkers are scarce, those of any grade higher than "V" especially so. THE PARKER STORY estimates that a total of 91 28-gauge GH Parkers were made with Parker steel barrels. Only 18 were 28". This example remains in excellent original condition and matches all specifications in Serialization ledger. Parker name, address, and steel markings are on concave matted rib. Barrel flats and lump are stamped with all correct markings including Parker overload proofs. Double 0 frame has all correct markings on water table which has lightening cuts. Case hardened action with automatic safety and double triggers, is engraved in "G" style with sprays of scroll surrounding "PARKER BROS" over simple bird scenes. This gun is unusual as it depicts pheasant on left, right, and bottom. Blued trigger guard with scroll on bow has SN on tang. Lightly stump figured American walnut Parker capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over Parker's dogs head buttplate without spur. Typical widely spaced point pattern checkering is at grip. A vacant German silver shield is on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend with standard metal tip and usual release has ejector patent numbers on iron. Excellent condition. Original. Essentially as found. Barrels retain approximately 90% original blue, thinning somewhat at sides from normal hand wear with scattered minor light scratches and marks. Action retains 60 - 70% original case hardening color, balance a pleasing hand wear induced silver with no noted staining. Trigger guard retains most of its original blue. Stocks retain over 90% original varnish, worn through on a few high edges with some oil added as maintenance over a few scattered light scratches. Checkering is very lightly worn. Bores are excellent, bright and shiny throughout. Action is tight. Ejectors are strong and in time. An incredible small bore Parker with great dimensions and measurements. The chance of a lifetime.
