Standard model 1842 box lock Navy pistol as made by Deringer. Marked on the lock "DERINGER/ PHILADELPHIA". Marked on the barrel towards the breach with "DERINGER" also "RP" as well as a "P" in a circle. Smoothbore. CONDITION: Barrel retains a good amount of what appears to be original brown finish. Brass has a mellow patina to it. Markings are clear. Wood has some dings and handling marks. Fine mechanical function. From the Robert Sadler Collection. GR
