A handsome Kentucky with long 43" octagonal barrel and brass front sight. Deeply rifled, .40 caliber. J&W Aston warranted. Bolted lock with rudimentary engraving, swan neck cock with matching engraving. Brass furniture, elaborate patch box, signed on lid P.C. Angstadt. Double set triggers. Beautifully striped maple full stock with some line carving. Raised cheek piece. CONDITION: Barrel mostly fine brown patina. End of muzzle with concentric circles indicating original length. Deeply rifled bore is fair. Lock with roller bearing frizzen has some surface rust. Stock is in good condition throughout with no discernible defects. Set triggers work but hammer will not stay on cock.
