Standard Sea Service pistol of the Pattern 1796. The round barrel is marked with British proof marks as well as a crown over '9' and a crown over '10'. The center of the lockplate is stamped with a rampant lion holding a crown, and there is a crown over '2' stamped below the pan. The lock tail is stamped 1816. Standard brass Sea Service furniture with a large, iron belthook mounted on the left side. Tang stamped with a crown over '7'. Walnut stock with beavertail carved in relief around barrel tang. Complete with its original brass tipped wooden ramrod. CONDITION: Steel components have been chemically cleaned and retain a freckled grey surface. Markings are mostly very good. Brass retains a mellowing mustard patina. Stock shows some scattered marks. DMG
