This is a refinished Auto Ordnance rebuild gun after return from WW2. Lower assembly is from a Savage manufactured gun, serial number “S-472315” and does not match receiver SN. Left side of receiver clearly marked “Model 1928 A1” with serial number “113397” and added “AO”. Otherwise left-hand receiver markings are, “THOMPSON AUTOMATIC MACHINE GUN”, “CALIBRE .45 AUTOMATIC CARTRIDGE” clearly visible underneath the dull gray finish of the receiver. Right hand receiver markings are typical “AUTO – ORDNANCE” with Bridgeport address. Cutts bullet logo compensator Savage manufactured barrel index mark not in alignment with receiver indicates this is a replacement barrel. One WW2 era “Bridgeport” 50 round drum and “NOBUCKL” sling is included with this gun. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent with dull matte gray blue refinish throughout including drum with some slight wear to buttplate high edges to gray patina. Small chip, hardly noticeable out of tip of toe of buttstock. Drum is extremely fine as is sling. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is extremely fine. Bolt face very fine. This is a select fire machine gun. A very nice specimen of a rebuilt WW2 gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2019-10-190
