This second year production standard Model 1894 rifle has survived in almost unused condition. Factory letter confirms caliber, barrel and was shipped on December 16, 1896. CONDITION: 98% original blue on barrel and tube with razor sharp legends and edges with just some light handling marks and thinning. The frame has a few areas of light high edge wear and a couple of handling marks but still retains about 97% of the original factory high polish mirror blue finish. The case colors on the hammer and lever are still brilliant. The butt plate colors have faded. The stocks are proud to metal and aside from a couple of minor handling marks are near mint with just some minor finish loss on fore-arm. Even the fore-end cap retains the majority of its original blue and all the screws are true. The rifling is sharp and the action crisp as new. There cant be many in the hobby with more condition, especially in the antique serial number range. DB
