Gunsmith converted from .36 caliber percussion to .38 caliber centerfire. Nickel plated with one-piece walnut grips. Replaced large dovetailed blade front sight. Name, G.E. Rounds (possible gunsmith?) stamped on left side of barrel lug. Right side recoil shield has been machined for through cylinder breech loading. Either a newly made or possibly modified original cylinder to accept breech loading. No roll die scene or original Colt markings on cylinder. Loading lever modified with an advanced latching device. Frame has been significantly machined reducing original size, Colt's patent mostly removed. Barrel address has been mostly buffed away. CONDITION: Entire revolver has been refinished with most of the reapplied nickel plating remaining. Action is surprisingly tight and crisp. Bore is good with scattered corrosion and some dark areas. -MKS-
