Lot consists of: (A) Built by John Moses Browning in Ogden, Utah. This Model 1878 features a blued octagon barrel with blade front sight and adjustable rear marked "Browning Bros Ogden, Utah 355". Case hardened action with "S" lever. Walnut wood stock with steel crescent buttplate. Walnut forearm with slotted screw fastener. CONDITION: Overall poor with shootable bore. Hammer has been welded and rear broken. Action has silvery gray patina with some light pitting. Wood has several repairs and is in poor condition. (B) Browning Model 1878 with blued rifled octagon barrel marked "Browning Bros Ogden, Utah USA, Pat Oct 7, 79, 32, 461" with missing front sight and adjustable rear. Nickeled action and lever. Walnut wood stock with nickeled steel crescent buttplate. Walnut forearm with slotted screw fastener. CONDITION: Metal has turned to a silvery patina with a shootable bore. Action has been cleaned with light scratches. Wood has added finish with several cracks and large dings.
