Standard length 32 - 1/2" barrel chambered for .50-70 and mounted with graduated ladder sight. Arched breechblock marked "1870 / (Eagle head) / U.S." and 1863 dated lock plate marked with federal eagle and "U.S. SPRINGFIELD". Full length walnut stock mounted with 2 iron bands, 2 piece trigger guard, and "US" marked butt plate. Stock marked with illegible cartouches. CONDITION: Good. Metal components exhibit a pleasing mottled gray patina with a number of nicks in the barrel. Stock good with numerous impressions. Good bore with some lighter pitting. Fine mechanics. Serial numbers on barrel and receiver matching. BAS
