Colt 1911A1 semi automatic pistol. Military frame made 1943, while the slide is commercial. Left side of the frame is marked with "G.H.D." inspectors stamp and a "P" proof. Right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY". Crossed cannons ordnance cartouche behind the right grip panel. "GOVERNMENT/MODEL COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBER .45" marked on the left side of the slide in front of a rampant Colt pony. Company address on the right side of the slide. Barely visible drawing number on the barrel. Gun was reparkerized at some point. Aftermarket imitation ivory grips. Includes one blued steel magazine marked "S" on the lip for Scovill. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its reapplied finish with some light wear and scratches. Grips are excellent. Bore is frosted with good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
