Beautifully carved wood eagle BY John Haley Bellamy (American, 1836 - 1914). Banner reads "Don't Give Up The Ship". Marked on back "May 1 1891 John Haley Bellamy Kittery Maine" and a faint signature "May 1 1891 JH Bellamy". This example comes direct from Kittery Point Maine. Some areas of touch-up to the banner and to the wings. 25 - 1/2" length and 9" height. Beautiful example.
