Kentucky style Fowler attributed to the Berks County Region of Pennsylvania circa 1800. Gun is pictured on page 220 of Tom Grinslade's book "Flintlock Fowlers". 43 -7/8" half octagon smoothbore barrel with Berks style rifle sights. Hand forged Berks style flint lock with single trigger control. Curly maple full stock with brass hardware including engraved trigger bow and backplate with possibly replaced buttplate. PROVENANCE: Richard Hujsa Collection. CONDITION: Overall good with metal turning a plum patina and having some surface corrosion. Wood has no obvious repairs with the exception of the buttplate. Pitted bore with good mechanics. DLM
