Single 13.5" Globe Lens On Narrow Milk Glass Body. C. 1940s Single Lens for Silent Chief Gasoline, showing a unique Viking-style graphic with unique script. An independent Canadian brand with no noted history and only very limited advertising known. CONDITION: Lens is in overall very good condition, showing brilliant color and gloss with no notable field wear. Lens shows an excellent condition outer field, but shows a crack at the left mounting hole that goes into the "C" of Chief. Lens was removed from the body, and the graphic and lettering was fired on. The glass appears to be old, showing minor imperfections in the face, and the mounting holes show squared edges and extend through the blue border. The lens is either a very early reproduction, or is in fact genuine. We have consulted with many of the best experts in the hobby, and that is the best determination available at this time. Lens is set on a Narrow Milk Glass Body, and shows no damage and a chip-free base. An excellent displaying Globe.
