Very fine original condition U.S. Model 1904 Maxim tripod. No mounting pins present, but otherwise very serviceable. Identification plate at front reads "TRIPOD / AUTO. MACHINE CAL .30 / NO. 193 INSP. K. K. / MADE BY / VICKERS SONS & MAXIM / UNDER U.S. PATENTS NOS". This tripod is immediately distinguishable by the large well-made traverse dials with attractive brass knobs, with steel wing nuts holding the legs in place. No leather seat on this tripod. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine original green painted finish with some scattered areas of brown patina. Mechanism completely serviceable. One seldom if ever finds this model tripod offered apart from a gun. See 1904 Maxim gun from a different consignor offered in this same sale as well as a 1904 Maxim Parts kit!
