Penny poker machines predated the nickel machines, and most were produced in the late 19th century. This Columbia trade stimulator on a cast iron pedestal, featuring a "Free Cigars" marquee and five reel poker strips is just one of those early examples. The machine offers patrons a pre-selected amount of cigars depending on the hand obtained. For example, a Royal Flush rewards 25 cigars. CONDITION: Amazing original paint and pinstriping. Aged wear is apparent with the awards cards yellowed. A great example of an early trade stimulator. Working. Manufactured by Columbia Mfg. Co., C. 1891. No keys.
