This remarkable and rare beauty is the Elephant Wonder arcade machine. Roover Bros. answered the popularity of the Mlle. Zita with this anthropomorphic elephant. Most popular with clientele of the period as well as collectors today, Roover manufactured five different fortune tellers and this example probably the rarest and most desirable amongst them! Jumbo, the Elephant Wonder, is dressed in a lovely Victorian era silk and lace dress, with wooden limbs and articulating leather trunk. For a penny she flips through her book of fortunes to deliver a message to a lucky patron. The ornate cast iron base is in original condition and shows some paint loss that does not detract from the beauty of the piece. This fortune telling elephant is as the name appropriately implies: wonderful! Very fine with well done replacement marquee and back panel. This exceptional and very well preserved machine is certain to be a center piece in any advanced collection. Possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a extremely rare arcade machine of this caliber. Circa 1899. One key is provided.

Condition: (Excellent).
