This is a wonderful example of this iconic vending machine by the General Merchandise Co. "Smilin' Sam from Alabam, the Salted Peanut Man" is a figural peanut vending machine where you deposit your coin in the slot in his head and pull his tongue to get a full portion of salted peanuts. CONDITION: In all original paint and has a wonderful aged patina - the look most collectors like for this very desirable vending machine. With a cast iron stand. Referenced in "Silent Salesman Too" by Bill Enes, p. 150.
