C: 1891 Roover Bros. Co. Extremely rare, only 3-4 original examples are known of this floor model fortune teller featuring a donkey automaton within a lighted cabinet. Moving her head from side to side, the lady donkey surveys the crowd as she flips her baton to spin the wheel. The number at which it stops corresponds to a numbered fortune listed on the wall behind her. Clockwork operation, the electric power is for the lighted cabinet only. CONDITION: Original or early paint to the cast cabinet, original finish to the oak upper cabinet. Original donkey in period clothing of some age showing light staining and soiling. There is no marquee, however reproduction's would be available. Wear and signs of use consistent with age. There is an added "stop" to the side body that would prohibit play, and as of this description the Donkey is untested. Includes key.
