1890s-era doll, incised on back of head "R. D." She has heavily shaded lips to her closed mouth, with slight space in between, but no opening. She has blue glass paperweight eyes, dark multi-stroke eyebrows and lashes and pierced earlobes. Her head is mounted to a rather crude but period French wood and composition body with articulation at the shoulders and hips only. The body is in relatively good condition, with perhaps minor repainting at the fingers and slight paint wear at the joints, as is typical. She wears a pale blue heavy silk dress with buttons down the front and a low-drop waist ribbon sash. There is a nice lace overlay over the lower skirt. The wig is antique brown human hair with bangs and long curls over an antique Steiner pate. The shoes are antique pale blue leather with brass buckles. There is slight loss of color to the very tip of the nose.
Condition: (Very Good).
