23" (58cm) bisque socket-head French child with very determined look and huge "owl" eyes, with heart-shaped painted upper lip, nicely highlighted lower lip, dimple in chin, pierced earlobes and relatively pale complexion, uncharacteristic of this particular doll. She is incised on the back of the head "E 11 D depose." She is on what appears to be the original fully-jointed French wood and composition body, with mostly original finish and some typical age wear, especially some scuffing on the fingers. She is nicely attired in a multiple-color pleated silk dress with lace vest, nice old white leather boots with slightly raised heel, antique brown human hair wig over cork pate and a green bonnet with bow pinned to the top. She unfortunately has a restored hairline on the forehead, just to the left of center. It is not that visible when wig and pate are in place, but easy to detect when a light is shown on the head. Nevertheless, a very pretty doll.
