25” (63 centimeters) 1880’s period doll with bisque socket head incised “8” with lovely pale blue threaded glass eyes, closed, slightly smiling mouth with well decorated highlighted lips, pierced ear lobes, head mounted to separate bisque shoulder plate which in turn is mounted to the original stuffed French kid fashion body with gusseted joints at the elbows, hips and knees. She has separately stitched fingers and wears a ring on the right hand. She wears an antique, possibly original, brown human hair wig with long curls and a period cotton pleated dress with a floral printed design in front, a large straw bonnet and antique red leather shoes. Bisque head and shoulder is very good, however both ear lobes have some typical minor flakes at the holes. The leather body is somewhat dry, repaired at both wrists and has other typical age wear and minor repairs, especially at the knees.
