5¢ O.D. JENNINGS "CHIEF" SLOT MACHINE
C. 1930-1940s attractive O.D. Jennings 5¢ Chief three-reel slot. Has a striking cast metal front finish in turquoise blue, black, red, silver, and bronze, dominated by a large relief portrait of a Native American Chief, centrally positioned above the jackpot reserve. Upper cabinet features original reel strips, coin escalator, a 5¢ denomination indicator and original-style bell fruit gum payout card. The lower front is decorated with detailed wilderness scenes depicting Native American Braves among pine trees, together with applied "Chief" lettering and visible jackpot compartment. Retains cast patent information on the rear of the cabinet door and substantial wood cabinet base, an especially graphic example of the Jennings celebrated Chief series gambling machines, displaying strong period color and extensive relief decoration. CONDITION: Good overall.
