This is the earlier version of "The Kelly" trade stimulator made by Kelly Manufacturing of Chicago in 1903. The later versions marketed after 1905 were marked "Improved". This example is all original, including all castings, award card, back door, reel strips, and top marquee with an added stop watch of unknown use. The Kelly was a very popular trade stimulator in store phonographs. Originally a card machine by the Kelly Cigar Company, this example has the original modified numbered reel strips and a Zeno gum mechanism. In original finish, and a great original example of this early trade stimulator. With keys.
