If there is a flagship for vintage slot machines, this exquisite 1899 upright double must be it. The Mills Novelty Company spared no expense in the design and execution of this model. The oak cabinet with recessed panels, carved appliques, and fluted columns has a high condition finish that looks direct from the factory. The ornate cast iron claw feet, reliefs of Admiral Dewey and Mozart and other elements are very clean and undamaged. An absolutely stunning restoration with copper flash original castings, replaced reverse glass graphics, replaced back doors and locks. Accepting nickels on one side and two-bits on the other, the mechanics work flawlessly. The center of the machine is dominated by a fine music box housed behind glass and a relief casting of Mozart and plays a short tune with each spin. This is a wonderful example of the Mills Dewey double with musical attachment and would be a cornerstone to any gambling collection. With keys.
