C: 1895. Original Manufacturer unknown. In 1905, the federal government outlawed the sale of loose cigars from vending machines, dating this early vending machine at the turn of the century. Selling a single cigar for a nickel, this wood cased vending machine was most likely given to the operator for the purchase of cigars. CONDITION: Showing wear, scuffs and scrapes consistent with age and use. Not restored, period locks and original internal operating mechanism. Finding cigars of the correct size to vend could be a challenge, and the front graphic instruction card is a replacement.
