For a similar example see plate 14.PA on page 197 of "Swords and Blades of the American Revolution" by George C. Neumann. The iron head measures 16" in height with additional iron straps measuring 17-3/8" on each side. The cruciform spike measures about 9" in height and the head measures about 8" with a crescent blade and a downward turned spike on the opposite side. The socket is cone shaped with a relief ring just before the integral iron bands. The replaced haft detaches into two sections, when together measures about 70-1/2" for a total height of 86-1/2". CONDITION: Head retains a dark patina overall with medium pitting. Blade has one corner bent and the top tip is broken off and absent. DMG
