This lot consists of a blue sapphire, diamond and platinum ring, size 7-1/2. The ring has a total dwt of 4.8 with a Euro shank bottom and the following is stamped on the interior of the band: "Orianne PT950 SA1.61ct D0.95ct." This ring is accompanied by two reports, a GIA Sapphire Report and an AIG Gem Laboratory report. The GIA Sapphire Report (report number 5172679212) is dated June 2016. This report noted that the blue sapphire is oval in shape with brilliant and modified brilliant cut. The sapphire is a natural sapphire and natural corundum with no evidence of heat treatment. GIA notes that the sapphire is approximately 1.61 carats and has the following measurements: 7.59 x 6.09 x 4.40 mm. The AIG Gem Laboratory (Trace No. RN022035 and Appraisal No. 000717170122) is dated June 2017 and was intended for the use as an estimated retail value appraisal. This report noted that the setting and shank of the ring are platinum with a type II sapphire and round brilliant cut diamonds. According to AIG a type II stone means that those gemstones have minor inclusions. There are approximately 54 round brilliant diamonds with an approximate total weight of 0.98 points. Those diamonds were graded in the setting with a clarity ranging from SI1 to SI2 and have a color range from F to H. This ring has a total weight of 7.39gm, according to AIG. Overall the piece is in good condition with normal wear present.
