Blade measures 34 - 3/8" from tip of blade to base of ricasso. Short fuller measures 9 - 1/2" and has traces of etching, now illegible. Cast baskethilt of later manufacture and married to sword via use of a machined globus pommel. Baskethilt with simple incised decorations. Slightly waisted grip with a debossed checkering pattern. CONDITION: Blade has evidence of delamination and spotted darkness throughout. Decorations heavily softened. Baskethilt with casting flash and softness throughout, and scattered oxidation. Pommel with oxidation, and evidence of hammering around base of tang when sword was assembled. Due to assembly, sword on the whole is loose. EMW
